In you project, it is my goal for students to develop an artistic work ethic, while fostering confidence, responsibility, experimentation, and originality in addition to developing skills, and techniques with a variety of media by creating a work of art that could potentially be chosen for the art show at the end of the year. THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL BE GRADED UPON COMPLETION. This should not be rushed because this will count as a summative project grade. If I feel that you are rushing or the work is not satisfactory, I will make you choose to continue pushing the work or create a new project. You may choose any of the following supplies to use to create this project. If there is a material that you would like to use that you are not completely comfortable with, I will work with you to show you the best ways to use the material. Material List:
We may have some other supplies if requested, but will be issued only with teacher approval. You are welcome to purchase your own supplies if you wish to create using a material that we do not have access to.

In order for your project to be approved, your work should do one of the following:
Be inspired by an artist’s work that is researched.
Portray a theme.
Convey a message that is meaningful to you.
You can use Google as a tool to help inspire you as well as a research tool if you choose to use the work of an artist as inspiration. Once you have decided on your project, you must write a one to two paragraph proposal that is teacher approved. Make sure to include the topic of your artwork, the type of project you will create, and what materials you will be using. Additionally you will need to keep a weekly calendar with proposed weekly progress goals. (100% of outlines done, finish the torso, complete construction of ____) You will need to have a minimum of 3 completed independent projects by the end trimester. If you do not execute your time appropriate to complete a minimum of 3 large summative projects, the projects will have to be completed outside of class. For pacing purposes you should have one project done and at the very least a second in the planning stages by mid trimester__________.
