Independent Art Project Proposal

Students will:
This should not be rushed because this will count as a summative project grade. If I feel that you are rushing or the work is not satisfactory, I will make you choose to continue pushing the work or create a new project.
You may choose any of the following supplies to use to create this project. If there is a material that you would like to use that you are not completely comfortable with, I will work with you to show you the best ways to use the material.
Material List:
We may have some other supplies if requested, but will be issued only with teacher approval. You are welcome to purchase your own supplies if you wish to create using a material that we do not have access to.

In order for your project to be approved, your work should do one of the following:
Once you have decided on your project, you must write a one to two paragraph proposal that is teacher approved. Make sure to include the topic of your artwork, the type of project you will create, and what materials you will be using. Additionally you will need to keep a weekly calendar with proposed weekly progress goals. (100% of outlines done, finish the torso, complete construction of ____)
You will need to have a minimum of 3 completed independent projects by the end trimester. If you do not execute your time appropriate to complete a minimum of 3 large summative projects, the projects will have to be completed outside of class. For pacing purposes you should have one project done and at the very least a second in the planning stages by mid trimester__________.

- choose a challenging subject and media to create an independent project.
- use art class time wisely by working on it during all time in class.
- employ knowledge of good craftsmanship with neatness and care of storage.
- develop significant skill and technique with the chosen media.
- employ prior knowledge of composition and the role played by the elements and principles of art in the creation of a successful work of art.
