INSIDE & OUT: self portrait
THE ASSIGNMENT
This will be a self portrait summative assignment. Self portraits are some of the most expressive style portraits an artist can make. We are truly the only ones that can 100% know how we feel both inside and out. In this assignment you will be challenged to take two self portraits. One self portrait will show how you are presenting yourself to the world and one will show how you are currently feeling on the inside. It is up to you how you edit and combine the two photos. in the above examples I used my Iphone x to take the photos and edit. Photos were taken in my bathroom with the phone propped up in the medicine cabinet. I used the lens on the screen side. Feel free to use whatever resources you have available. Check out the resources at the bottom for tips and tricks for good self portraits.

Expectations / requirements
- must have two self-portraits
- one portrait must show how you present yourself to others and One portrait shows how you feel on the inside
- must be in focus
- edited to enhance create one cohesive piece.
- combined together in a creative and narrative way. (play with color, saturation, cropping)
- when submitting submit the original images if you are combining into one image
TIPS & TRICKS
- Take both pictures in the same space for consistency in lighting and background (unless your different backgrounds help tell the story)
- Take multiple pictures
- use a timer
- take a moment to really think about how you feel and let that feeling take over you whole body.
