In you project, it is my goal for students to develop an artistic work ethic, while fostering confidence, responsibility, experimentation, and originality in addition to developing skills, and techniques with a variety of media by creating a work of art that could potentially be chosen for the art show at the end of the year. THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL BE GRADED UPON COMPLETION. This should not be rushed because this will count as a summative project grade. If I feel that you are rushing or the work is not satisfactory, I will make you choose to continue pushing the work or create a new project.
You may choose any of the following supplies to use to create this project. If there is a material that you would like to use that you are not completely comfortable with, I will work with you to show you the best ways to use the material.

In order for your project to be approved, your work should do one of the following:
Be inspired by an artist’s work that is researched.
Portray a theme.
Convey a message that is meaningful to you.
You can use Google as a tool to help inspire you as well as a research tool if you choose to use the work of an artist as inspiration. Once you have decided on your project, you must write a one to two paragraph proposal that is submitted to schoology and is then teacher approved. Make sure to include the topic of your artwork, the type of project you will create, and what materials you will be using.
