As you watch the video please take notes with both words and images. See mine below. (these dont have to be perfect drawings they are references)

ASSIGNMENT
Beginner

- draw 3 busts (shoulder to head) of three different characters using your notes from the video. Keep your grid and label your sections 1x,2x,1x & 2x

Intermediate

- draw 3 busts (shoulder to head) of three different characters without using the grid lines but still having 1x. 2x, 1x, & 2x proportions

Advanced

look at a manga artist you really admire and really look at facial artwork. What is it that draws you into it? Pinpoint one specific thing. Eyes? the mouth? the angles? Hair? Line weight? Shadows?
using your reference image, take a photo with your phone of the face and if you can print out or at least mark it up on your phone. Draw the 1x,2x, 1x, 2x grid over the top of the image
Determine one single stand out feature and recreate that feature from a few different characters from that artist. Take notes directly on the sheet of paper with your drawing. What you are doing well and what still fells off.
now incorporate that feature into your own character
